Sequans Communications is an ISO 9001:2015-certified company operating an international, multi-site Quality Management System. The company is preparing for its upcoming ISO 9001:2015 certification renewal and wants to strengthen its QMS ahead of that milestone, with particular emphasis on:
- The effectiveness and documentation of the internal audit process.
- Control of documented information (creation, revision, and approval of procedures).
- Supplier and subcontractor management and evaluation.
- Follow-up and closure of corrective and preventive actions.
Sequans is looking for part-time external support to help drive these improvements and prepare the organization for a successful renewal audit.
2. Mission Objectives
- Strengthen the internal audit process, making it more effective, consistent, and well-documented.
- Improve control of documented information, ensuring revisions and approvals are properly tracked.
- Reinforce supplier and subcontractor management practices, including evaluation and re-evaluation of key suppliers.
- Ensure corrective and preventive actions are tracked to closure with proper root-cause analysis and effectiveness checks.
- Prepare the organization for a successful ISO 9001:2015 certification renewal audit.
- Contribute to strengthen Business Continuity Plan into the organization.
- Prepare for the transition to ISO 9001:2026.
3. Key Responsibilities
- Review and improve the internal audit procedure, templates, and reporting format so that every audit report records scope, evidence, and traceable conclusions.
- Help define and formalize the annual (and multi-year) internal audit program.
- Provide hands‑on coaching to the internal audit team and, where useful, co‑lead selected internal audits.
- Support the training and development of internal auditors.
Documented information & corrective actions
- Help implement and roll out a system for tracking applicable documents, revisions, and approvals.
- Establish or refine a Non‑Conformity register capturing corrections, corrective actions, root cause analysis, and effectiveness checks.
- Work with process owners to close open corrective/preventive actions and instill a routine for keeping the action tracker current.
- Support the update and maintenance of the Approved Supplier List and the rollout of a supplier questionnaire/re‑evaluation process.
- Help define a consistent supplier self‑assessment and audit format with proper sign‑off.
Renewal readiness
- Conduct periodic gap assessments against ISO 9001:2015 requirements across all certified sites and processes.
- Support the update of the process map and other management‑review inputs.
- Prepare the organization and documentation ahead of the certification body's upcoming audits.
- Updated internal audit procedure, templates, and a documented multi‑year internal audit program.
- Evidence packages supporting closure of open findings and improvement areas.
- An up‑to‑date, actively maintained Corrective/Preventive Action tracker.
- Updated Approved Supplier List and supplier evaluation process.
- A renewal‑readiness assessment report ahead of the certification renewal audit.
5. Profile Sought
- Proven experience as an ISO 9001:2015 consultant or lead auditor, ideally with a recognized Lead Auditor certification (IRCA or equivalent).
- Prior experience supporting certification audits with a recognized certification body.
- Comfortable working with a multi‑site, multi‑country QMS; experience in semiconductor, electronics, or high‑tech manufacturing is a strong plus.
- Practical, hands‑on style: able to write procedures, coach internal auditors, and produce audit‑ready evidence — not just advise from a distance.
- Fluent in English; French fluency strongly preferred given the on‑site work at the Colombes headquarters and interactions with local teams.
- Comfortable engaging directly with management and process owners, and escalating risks proactively.
6. Working Arrangements
- Location: On‑site presence required at Sequans headquarters in Colombes (92700), France, with remote work possible between on‑site days.
- Time commitment:Part‑time — indicatively 1–2 days per week (or an equivalent monthly volume), adjustable around key milestones such as the internal audit campaign and certification body visits.
- Duration: Through the next certification renewal cycle, with periodic checkpoint reviews.
- Reporting line: Reports functionally to the Quality/QRA management team and coordinates with the internal audit team and relevant process owners.
7. Success Criteria
- Open findings and improvement areas closed with evidence acceptable to the certification body.
- All corrective/preventive action items closed with documented root‑cause analysis and effectiveness evidence.
- Internal audit campaign completed on schedule, with fully documented reports for every audit.
- ISO 9001:2015 certification successfully renewed.
