# Network & Security Expert-CDE* Home* Network & Security Expert-CDE* October 27, 2026* 0 Comments* By Roberte OkoyaContext: As part of securing, modernizing, and maintaining the operational readiness of the client's infrastructure, the Network Expert works on LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VoIP environments and multi-site interconnections. Their responsibilities include WAN monitoring, LAN segmentation, inter-VLAN filtering, firewall renewal and redundancy, Wi-Fi coverage expansion, and upgrades to switches, access points, and UPS systems.Responsibilities • Conduct network flow, performance, and coverage audits. • Define and maintain VLAN, IP, DHCP/DNS, QoS, and filtering matrices. • Design secure and highly available network architectures. • Administer LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and firewall equipment. • Manage migrations, failovers, and rollback plans. • Analyze and resolve network incidents, and ensure follow-up on corrective actions. • Coordinate with telecom operators, the VoIP provider, and other relevant stakeholders. • Conduct performance, failover, and security testing, as well as user acceptance testing. • Produce and maintain physical and logical diagrams, addressing plans, flow matrices, coverage studies, configuration backups, migration plans, test plans, and acceptance test reports.Desired Profile • Proven expertise in LAN/WAN networks, routing, switching, VLANs, Wi-Fi, VPNs, QoS, and MPLS. • Proficiency with WatchGuard firewalls or equivalent solutions, captive portals, network monitoring, and Syslog. • Sound understanding of high availability principles, segmentation, filtering, and ANSSI security best practices. • Ability to work with the Project Manager, IT Expert, Security Expert, Network Technician, telecom operators, VoIP provider, and the client's IT department. • Meticulous attention to detail, autonomy, analytical skills, and ability to work in a multi-site environment.
