About the Company

Established in 2017, Infinite Orbits is a NewSpace company, based in Toulouse, pushing the boundaries of in-orbit services with cutting‑edge spacecraft driven by its own Rendez‑Vous solution, an advanced Autonomous Vision‑Based Navigation Solution. IO has two generations of missions

  • "Orbit Guard" provides Inspection and Space Situational Awareness services in GEO.

  • "Endurance" is a docking service capable of extending the life of GEO telecom satellites, by taking over AOCS takeover for 5 years.

About the Role

We are looking for an Engineer responsible for defining and implementing the embedded software development workshop used for the software developed for our satellites.

The goal is to build a modern, industrial, and reproducible development environment for developing, testing, integrating and validating critical embedded software, particularly in C and Rust, with Python for testing, automation, and engineering tools.

A major dimension of the role will be implementing a strategy for using artificial intelligence to accelerate development, while maintaining a level of control compatible with the requirements of space projects and the ECSS and ISO 9001 standards.

The candidate must therefore be able to build a workshop that combines developer productivity, automation, reproducibility, cybersecurity, traceability, and compliance.

Job Description

Workshop architecture

Define the overall architecture of the development environment:

  • C and Rust environments;

  • Python environment for testing and automation;

  • source code management;

  • dependency management;

  • version management;

  • configuration management;

  • continuous integration;

  • artifact management;

  • test report management;

  • <

  • static and dynamic analysis;

  • requirements management and traceability;

  • integration with anomaly management tools;

  • simulation and validation environments.

The goal is to have a reproducible workshop, notably allowing a software environment to be rebuilt identically and verification evidence to be produced that can be used within a space project. Hybrid validation

Build an architecture that allows the same test logic to be run at several levels of system representation:

Software-in-the-Loop / simulation - software model of the hardware and/or environment.

Hardware / representative equipment - validation on real equipment or a test environment.

Flight equipment - where relevant, validation on the actual equipment intended for flight.

CI/CD industrialization

Requirements

  • Engineering or university degree in computer science, embedded software, or systems.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in embedded software development, development infrastructure, or software engineering.

  • Very strong command of C.

  • Experience with Rust, or a demonstrated ability to quickly adopt Rust in an industrial environment.

  • Very strong command of Python, particularly for automation and testing.

  • Experience with Linux systems and automated development environments.

  • Command of the following principles:

    • Git;

    • CI/CD;

    • build automation;

    • cross-compilation;

    • automated testing;

    • static analysis;

    • artifact management.

  • Experience with embedded systems and the space sector strongly appreciated.

  • Knowledge of ECSS, particularly ECSS-E-ST-40 and ECSS-Q-ST-80, strongly appreciated.

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 practices appreciated.

  • Hands‑on experience using AI in a software development environment would be a strong advantage.

  • Professional‑level English essential.

  • French nationality is required due to restricted‑access projects.

What we offer

  • The opportunity to be part of an international team transforming the space industry.

  • A creative and innovative work environment where ideas turn into reality.

  • Competitive salary and benefits.
