Data & AI Director - CRM, OneData & Agentic AI
HEC Alumni - Paris, France - Full-time
ABOUT HEC ALUMNI
Founded in 1883, HEC Alumni is the global alumni association of HEC Paris, connecting 80,000 graduates worldwide and recognized by The Economist as the most influential alumni association in the world. We coordinate nearly 1,200 volunteers, more than 100 clubs and 85 chapters, and run around 1,000 events every year.
Our mission is to inspire and engage our community to contribute to a more inclusive, prosperous and sustainable world, guided by three principles: We SHARE, We DARE, We CARE. We offer professional and personal development services, solidarity programs, editorial content, flagship events, and an investment fund backing alumni-founded startups.
THE ROLE
We are creating the position of Data & AI Director to turn alumni data into a strategic asset for the Association and the wider HEC ecosystem, and to deploy agentic AI at every level of our organization.
You will report to the Executive Director, sit on the Association's Executive Committee (CODIR) and take part in the "OneHEC" governance bodies. You will lead a team of 2, including a Data & AI Manager, and own the Data, AI & IT budget.
You will drive three major programs:
- Making our CRM reliable and turning its data into value for our teams.
- OneData: building data sharing with HEC Paris (the School) and the HEC Foundation.
- Designing, deploying and scaling AI use cases across the Association.
We are looking for someone who is both a data strategist and a doer. You will be as comfortable presenting a roadmap to C-level executives as getting hands-on in the CRM yourself. Above all, you will be the internal champion of these projects: the one who sells solutions to staff, volunteers and leadership, drives adoption and makes change happen. This is key to the success of the role.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Own the alumni CRM and data quality (Microsoft Dynamics 365)
- Set the CRM roadmap, architecture and security, and lead its day-to-day optimization: data qualification, enrichment and protection.
- Structure master data on alumni, members, donors, volunteers and partners; design workflows and automations.
- Bring critical CRM skills back in-house and reduce dependency on vendors.
- Give teams the ability to query the database in natural language.
- Ensure GDPR compliance and keep marketing pressure on alumni under control.
- Turn data into value for our teams
- Provide targeting, segmentation and analytics to our Engagement (communication), Support (employability, careers), Contribution (relationship marketing, partnerships) and Corporate Services teams.
- Prioritize data requests based on business value.
- Measure the impact of our actions and build the dashboards and insights that support Executive Committee decisions.
- Lead the OneData program and data governance across the HEC ecosystem
- Set up alumni data sharing between the Association, HEC Paris and the HEC Foundation, based on jointly defined use cases.
- Build a common data governance framework: roles, access rules, legal and regulatory framework.
- Manage the integration partner and own the relationship with the School's and Foundation's IT and data teams.
- Deploy agentic AI across the Association
- Define the AI strategy and select high-value use cases: digital twins, conversational agents, automation of internal processes.
- Design and deploy AI agents with the teams, from prototype to production.
- Measure productivity gains and the value created.
- Promote an ethical, transparent and responsible use of data and AI.
- Champion adoption and internal advocacy
- Sell the vision and the solutions internally: to the Executive Director and Executive Committee, to staff and to our volunteer community.
- Evangelize AI and data use cases with demos, quick wins and success stories.
- Lead change management: train users, build internal champions, remove barriers to adoption.
- Help teams and volunteers evolve their ways of working.
- Manage IT, budget, vendors and team
- Manage the Data, AI & IT budget; negotiate and steer vendors, integrators and data partnership contracts.
- Choose the tools for our digital platforms (website, mobile app, mentoring, e-learning, volunteer management) and arbitrate their budget.
- Lead projects end to end: requirements, specifications, prioritization, user acceptance testing, delivery on time and on budget.
- Manage and develop a team of 2 and set its priorities.
HOW SUCCESS WILL BE MEASURED (FIRST 12 MONTHS)
- Share of qualified alumni profiles in the CRM and overall data quality
- First OneData use cases in production with the School and the Foundation
- Number of AI agents deployed and actually adopted by teams
- Adoption and satisfaction of CRM and AI tool users
- Reduction of manual tasks and processing times
- Projects delivered on time and on budget
WHAT YOU BRING
Experience
- 7 to 10 years of experience in large-scale data management.
- Background in large consumer-facing environments (e.g., e-commerce) or large nonprofits/membership organizations, including managing marketing pressure and solicitation.

- Hands-on experience with generative and agentic AI tools.
- Strong command of GDPR applied to member data, and of data governance and security.
- Proficiency with reporting and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL).
Leadership and soft skills
- A doer: you take topics end to end and are not afraid to get your hands dirty.
- A strategist: you build a data and AI vision and tie it to the organization's goals.
- An advocate: you know how to sell a project internally, win buy-in and drive user adoption and change.
- At ease with C-level executives and able to lead strategic projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience managing a small team.
- Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical audiences.
