Area Sales Manager for Northern and Eastern France
Area Sales Manager for Northern and Eastern France
Full-time
HB RTS is a fast-growing company that specializes in the rental, pooling, and cleaning of logistics packaging solutions, such as pallets, crates, and roll containers. These products play a key role in the supply chains of retailers and their suppliers. With innovative solutions, HB RTS helps customers address the challenges they face on a daily basis: sustainable packaging, cost savings, and regulatory compliance. HB RTS is headquartered in the Netherlands and operates in several other European countries, including France.
In France, HB RTS previously operated under the brand name TPS Rental Systems. There, the company focused primarily on the rental and supply of fully collapsible IBCs, the production and supply of IBC liners, and the supply of adapters and accessories that improve product unloading and reduce waste. Thanks to the merger with HB RTS, we now have a broad product range (pallets, crates, containers) that allows us to meet the needs of numerous prospects and customers in the logistics sector, thereby further supporting our growth.
The French team is supported by local depots located throughout Europe: in the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, Italy, and Spain. Together, we serve a wide range of customers throughout Europe.
This is your chance to join a dynamic, growing organization and make an immediate contribution to our continued growth in the French market.
About the Position
As Area Sales Manager, you will be part of the sales team and report to the Market Director for France. You will be responsible for driving sales growth and further developing HB RTS’s business in Northern and Eastern France. The role combines acquiring new customers with managing and growing existing customer relationships, with a focus on top-tier service, products, and comprehensive solutions.
You work from home and travel regularly throughout France.
You will develop new markets and applications for HB RTS products, particularly in the food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and chemical sectors, and build strong, long-term customer relationships. The role requires a highly independent, consultative sales approach and the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels, from the shop floor to senior management.
Your success is measured by profitable revenue growth, acquiring new customers, developing accounts, and identifying new market opportunities.
Responsibilities
Manage and Expand the Customer Base
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers and identify growth opportunities within these accounts.
- Actively identify and approach new organizations that 1) process and/or transport liquid products, including in the food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries, and 2) transport dry goods in a closed-loop system on pallets, in crates, or in containers.
- Set up and manage a structured prospecting program based on market research, online research, referrals, and other lead generation methods.
- Achieve profitable revenue and margin growth and meet the agreed-upon targets for sales, revenue, and margin.
- Build and maintain a strong and qualified sales pipeline.
Demonstrate Products and Advise Customers
- Demonstrate HB RTS products—such as containers, liners, and other packaging items from our product line—to potential and existing customers.
- Provide consultative sales support and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels within client organizations.
- Develop a thorough understanding of customers’ processes and identify opportunities to create additional value and revenue and make their packaging logistics more sustainable.
Quotes, Negotiations, and Closing Deals
- Draft commercial proposals and quotes, negotiate prices, quantities, delivery schedules, and commercial terms, and successfully close deals.
- Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, and other promotional and business development events (including those abroad).
Reporting to Your Supervisor
- Keep information about prospects and customers accurate and up-to-date in the CRM.
- Provide the Market Director with a comprehensive monthly update on key accounts, prospects, sales activities, time allocation, and relevant market information.

- Fluent English, so you can communicate effectively with colleagues in other European countries.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout France, an average of 2 to 3 days per week, including overnight stays.
Skills and Competencies
- You're 60% "hunter" and 40% "farmer": you're great at bringing in new business, but you also have skills in account management and client development.
- You build long-term relationships with customers by coming across as approachable, confident, and credible.
- You are comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and enjoy working with a CRM system (HubSpot) and our internal asset management program.
