Offer Description
The BAM project — 3D biomimetic adaptable materials for life sciences — aims to validate 3D polymer scaffolds with independently adjustable mechanical properties and biochemical composition.
These scaffolds reproduce selected features of the extracellular matrix. The project will assess whether BAM supports cellular responses closer to in vivo reference data than conventional 2D plastic cultures. The resulting proof-of-concept data will support technology development and future applications in life sciences and drug screening.
Under the scientific supervision of Elisa Migliorini, the researcher will carry out biological validation of BAM, primarily using neuroblastoma and hereditary multiple exostoses models, in collaboration with the project team and specialist biological partners.
Prepare and functionalise BAM scaffolds, select stiffness and biochemical conditions suited to each model, and document experimental protocols.
Conduct cell culture experiments on 3D scaffolds and 2D controls; assess viability, morphology and differentiation using immunofluorescence and quantitative imaging.
Select relevant conditions for transcriptomic validation, prepare samples for bulk and/or single-cell RNA sequencing, and contribute to data interpretation with the project specialists.
Assess reproducibility, maintain traceable experimental records, and prepare datasets, protocols and reports for project monitoring and technology transfer
