Intern - Corporate Services

Location: Paris, France

The Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB), established in 1956, is a multilateral development bank with a unique social mandate from its 43 member states. It finances investment in social sectors, including education, health and affordable housing, with a focus on the needs of vulnerable people.

The Corporate Services Directorate (CS) delivers client-oriented, integrated services to optimise the work environment and enable the CEB to deliver its mandate. It comprises three Divisions: Facility & Travel Management, Information Technology and Human Resources. The CEB is looking for an intern to work directly with the Corporate Services Director, providing support on Directorate-wide priorities, coordination and follow-up. The intern will report to the Corporate Services Director. The role provides transversal analytical and project support and does not substitute for responsibilities assigned to the Divisions.

Main responsibilities:

  • Projects and budgets: monitor key Directorate projects, priorities and budgets; consolidate input from the Divisions and flag issues requiring the Director's attention.
  • Processes: review selected processes, identify gaps or unclear responsibilities and suggest practical improvements, including automation where appropriate.
  • Coordination across the Directorate: support collaboration among the Divisions, help clarify responsibilities and follow up on agreed actions.
  • AI and automation: identify practical opportunities to use AI and automation and support their implementation.
  • Director support: prepare concise analyses, briefings and proposals on strategic or organisational issues and support their follow-up.

Profile:

  • Graduated within the past 24 months or currently enrolled in the final academic year of higher education (ideally at Master's level or equivalent); studies in management, business analysis or a related field are particularly relevant.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to structure complex issues, work independently and with different teams, and develop practical proposals.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methods such as Lean or Agile, and an interest in the practical use of AI and automation, is an advantage.
  • Excellent command of English or French, both oral and written; working knowledge of the other is desirable.
  • Citizen of one of the CEB's Member States.

Conditions: 6-month internship starting February 2027 (some flexibility on start date). Paid internship allowance of EUR 1,800 per month as a flat-rate indemnity. Travel expenses are not covered. The internship does not confer CEB staff status.

Closing date: 2026-11-11
