Salary: €45,000 - €50,000 + Benefits + Electric Vehicle

Power the future of electric mobility

Are you an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working directly with customers and seeing the real world impact of your work?

Join a fast-growing electric vehicle (EV) charging technology business at the forefront of the transition to electric mobility. As an Operations Engineer, you’ll play a key role in keeping EV charging infrastructure reliable, efficient and ready for use.

Combining hands-on engineering, remote diagnostics and customer relationship management, this is an opportunity to take ownership of operational performance while helping shape the processes, systems and services of an expanding European operations team.

Reporting to the Operations Director, you’ll become a trusted technical partner to customers, supporting them from the commissioning of their charging stations throughout the life of their operating contracts.

What you’ll be doing

1. Commissioning and customer success

  • Commission EV charging stations on site, ensuring they are ready for reliable operation.
  • Configure digital services to meet individual customer requirements and use cases.
  • Train customers to get the most from their charging infrastructure and subscribed services.
  • Build strong customer relationships and act as their key technical point of contact.

2. Technical operations and troubleshooting

  • Proactively monitor charging infrastructure to maximise availability and performance.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues remotely, carrying out advanced on-site diagnostics when required.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance with service partners and other stakeholders.
  • Manage incident records, maintenance reports and the movement of spare parts.
  • Participate in the Operations & Maintenance on-call rota.

3. Performance, innovation and continuous improvement

  • Help achieve ambitious operational targets of over 99% station availability and over 99% charging session success.
  • Monitor operational KPIs and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
  • Conduct customer performance reviews alongside the sales team and identify opportunities to enhance their services.
  • Help develop and improve operational processes as the business continues to grow.
  • Collaborate with product teams to feed back customer insights, improve existing solutions and shape future products.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a technically capable, customer-focused engineer who takes ownership, enjoys finding solutions and is comfortable working in a dynamic environment.

Your background

  • A degree or equivalent five-year technical qualification in electrical engineering, electronics, industrial maintenance or a related discipline.
  • Ideally, 2–3 years’ experience in the EV charging sector, particularly in operations, maintenance or technical support.

Your technical skills

  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with technical management and digital platforms, such as charge point management systems (CPMS), CRM or ticketing systems, and computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • The ability to understand technical issues, coordinate solutions and follow them through to resolution.

Your approach

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work directly with customers and external service providers.
  • A proactive, organised and independent approach to managing your workload.
  • A commitment to safe working practices and high standards of service.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • A valid driving licence.

What makes this opportunity attractive?

  • Make a tangible impact: Help keep essential EV charging infrastructure available and reliable for drivers and customers.
  • Combine fieldwork with technical problem-solving: Work across remote diagnostics, on-site engineering, customer support and operational performance.
  • Help shape a growing business: Contribute to building the processes and ways of working that will support an expanding European operation.
  • Work across teams: Collaborate with customers, service partners, sales and product specialists, giving you visibility beyond a traditional engineering role.
  • Be part of the energy transition: Develop your expertise in a sector that is central to the shift towards electric mobility.
  • Enjoy practical support for your role: An electric company car is provided, with travel primarily across France and occasional trips elsewhere in Western Europe.

Ready to take the next step?

If you’re an engineer who enjoys taking ownership, solving challenging technical problems and delivering an excellent customer experience, this is an opportunity to make your mark in the fast-evolving EV charging industry.

Bring your technical expertise, curiosity and drive to a team working to make electric mobility more reliable every day.
