Adjunct Professor - Accounting & Finance | MBA & DBA Programs
Brentwood University | 100% Remote | Part-Time | Independent Contractor
Bring your industry experience into the graduate classroom.
Brentwood University is seeking an experienced accounting or finance professional who also has graduate-level teaching experience to join our international adjunct faculty.
We are not looking for a traditional, full-time academic whose experience is primarily classroom-based. We are looking for someone who has built a substantial career in accounting, finance, or financial management and can bring that firsthand expertise into graduate education.
Our MBA and DBA students are working professionals from around the world. They value professors who can connect business theory to the decisions, challenges, and responsibilities professionals encounter in their careers.
Who We're Looking For
Our ideal candidate is a working accounting or finance professional with a doctorate and demonstrated graduate-level teaching experience.
You may be a CFO, financial controller, accounting director, financial consultant, audit professional, or senior finance leader who also teaches MBA or other graduate business courses.
You should be comfortable teaching across several areas of accounting, finance, and business economics, using practical examples drawn from your own professional experience.
Courses May Include
- Financial and Managerial Accounting
- Accounting for Managers and Entrepreneurs

- Financial Analysis and Decision-Making
- Budgeting and Financial Planning

Faculty assignments will depend on qualifications, expertise, and course availability.

- Support student progress through regular communication and academic guidance.
- Collaborate with Brentwood University's academic team to maintain a high-quality learning experience.
Required Qualifications
- Completed doctorate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 3 years of hands‑on professional experience in accounting, finance, auditing, financial management, or a related field, beyond academic teaching.
- At least 2 years of graduate-level teaching experience, preferably in MBA or other graduate business programs.
- Previous experience teaching fully online courses.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and the ability to teach across related finance or economics subjects.
- Ability to engage experienced adult learners and connect academic concepts to professional practice.
- Excellent communication, organization, and independent working skills.
Particularly Valuable Experience
- Current or recent employment in a senior accounting or finance role.
- Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, CIMA, CA, CFA, or equivalent.
