Who we are
Build the devices that will power sustainable electrification worldwide!
AlpSemiis an industrial deep tech company building next-generation semiconductor power switches.
We are driving a generational technology shift: enabling the large-scale adoption of Solid-State Circuit Breakers, a breakthrough technology set to transform power protection and distribution, much like LEDs transformed lightning and digital cameras transformed photography.
Our technologies address one of the biggest challenges of our time: enabling sustainable electrification at scale byoptimizingpower consumption across global markets such as IA data centers, thereby improving access to electricity worldwide.
As part of our growth, we are hiring a Product Characterization & Reliability Engineer who wants to go beyond traditional product validation and play a key role in bringing breakthrough technologies from development to market.
You will take ownership of electrical characterization, Safe Operating Area (SOA) definition, product specifications, and reliability assessment of our next-generation power semiconductor devices. Working within a collaborative and agile engineering team (Technology, Design, Packaging, Application and Operations), you will have the opportunity to shape characterization methodologies, develop innovative testing approaches, and directly influence product performance, robustness, and reliability.
Key responsibilities
- Drive product characterization: Define and execute comprehensive electrical characterization plans across operating conditions, temperatures, and application environments.
- Shape product specifications: Translate experimental results into datasheets, electrical specifications, application limits, and product performance guidelines.
- Define operating boundaries: Establish, validate, and document Safe Operating Areas (SOA), including transient and demanding protection conditions.
- Build product confidence: Develop and execute reliability qualification strategies, investigate degradation mechanisms, and assess product lifetime and robustness.
- Solve challenging technical problems: Investigate electrical behavior, device variability, unexpected results, and failure mechanisms in close collaboration with technology and packaging experts.
- Innovate in the laboratory: Develop and improve test setups, automated measurement methodologies, data analysis tools, and characterization workflows.
- Contribute to product decisions: Provide technical insights and recommendations that directly influence product design, qualification, and release.
- Support real-world applications: Participate in customer evaluations, technical investigations, and debugging activities.
- Work across disciplines: Collaborate closely with Technology, Packaging, Application Engineering, and Operations teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
Job requirements
- Engineering degree or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics, or a related field.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in product engineering, characterization, validation, qualification, or reliability engineering.
- Strong understanding of power semiconductor devices and characterization methodologies.
- Experience with laboratory equipment and automated test environments.
- Knowledge of semiconductor qualification methodologies and reliability principles.
- Familiarity with statistical data analysis and interpretation of large experimental datasets.
- Experience generating datasheets, application limits, or product specifications is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency with data analysis and automation tools such as Python and compartmental simulations (Spice) is a plus.
- Autonomous, rigorous, and able to manage multiple technical projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
