Vulnerability Management Analyst (AI Training)

We partner with the world's leading AI research labs to build smarter, safer AI systems — and we need practitioners who know what real-world security looks like. If you've spent time in the trenches triaging CVEs, wrestling with patching workflows, and making hard calls about what risk actually matters in production, this role was built for you. Your expertise will directly shape how AI understands, reasons about, and responds to vulnerability management challenges. This isn't theoretical — you'll be working with realistic scenarios drawn from how security teams actually operate.

About The Role

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Analyze vulnerability reports, CVEs, and exposure scenarios across infrastructure and applications
  • Classify severity, exploitability, impact, and remediation strategies across diverse environments
  • Evaluate patching, mitigation, and risk prioritization decision-making scenarios
  • Generate, label, and validate realistic security-reasoning data used to train and evaluate AI systems
  • Apply your real-world judgment to help AI distinguish between theoretical risk and what actually matters in production

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of experience in vulnerability management, security operations, or infrastructure security
  • Hands-on familiarity with CVEs, vulnerability scanners, patching workflows, and risk prioritization frameworks
  • Able to think clearly about the tradeoffs between CVSS scores and real-world exploitability
  • Structured, analytical thinker who can communicate security reasoning in clear, well-organized terms
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently on asynchronous task-based projects

Nice to Have

  • Experience with tools like Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, or Wiz
  • Familiarity with frameworks like CVSS, EPSS, CISA KEV, or Zero Trust models
  • Background in cloud infrastructure, application security, or enterprise IT environments
  • Prior experience contributing to AI, data annotation, or technical writing projects

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on frontier AI systems with top research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work on your schedule, as much or as little as you want
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and collaboration with a global community of experts
  • Put your hard-earned security knowledge to work in a high-impact, forward-looking domain
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
